The trip from San Pedro de Atacama in Chile to Uyuni in Bolivia is without a doubt some of the most beautiful and unique landscape I have laid eyes on.
The tour takes three days by jeep in which you pass through the desert and end up at the salt flats. You are given lots of chances to get out of the jeep and wander around and take in all the views around you. They look something like this…
Mountains, lakes, sand, rocks.
For the first night you stay in the middle of the desert and it is FREEEEEEEZING! I remember having so many layers on that I could hardly move but still being cold.
This sunset made up for it… Usually sunsets never capture as well on the camera, but this one did. It lit up the whole sky. Very dramatic!
The last day of the tour is the most famous part. The salt flats of Bolivia.
Looking through these photos made me very nostalgic for that trip! Have you been to the beautiful desert?

Your posts are always making me want to go there! I heard it was cold in the desert at night, but never expected it to be that freezing, wow! And that sunrise is just amazing! Love all the photos as always 🙂
Thank you Camila! After looking through lots of older photos I really want to be travelling right now too!! 🙂
Lovely, I have never been to salt flats before. We used to live in New Mexico so I definitely miss seeing the desert and its dramatic beauty sometimes.
I can imagine! There is something really special about how pretty the desert is, isn’t there?
Beautiful photographs. They brought back so many memories of that wonderful place. We did the same trip late last year and loved every minute of it. An unforgettable experience.
