When arriving in Geneva I had no idea what it had to offer. But I did know one thing. I did know there was a huge water fountain on the edge of Lake Geneva and I knew it would be pretty big. It sprayed against the perfect backdrop of a clear, blue sky and cooled down everyone who walked by.
You can also admire the pretty views around while wondering what it would be like to travel across the lake in the many boats nearby.
Have you seen the Jet d’Eau? Marcella xx
I had no idea that such a thing existed in Geneva, how cool! Is there a story behind its existence at all? xx
Good question and I’m not sure but it is very aesthetically pleasing 🙂 x
I’ve never been to Geneva and I’ve never heard of such a fountain but it looks pretty awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Apparently it’s one of the biggest fountains in the world, which is very exciting. I even saw it when I flew out of Geneva on my night flight, which is just amazing!
I’ve only recently learned of the jet. Looks like such a beautiful place!
It was indeed! I’m not sure how I found out about it but it was the only thing I knew of Geneva! 🙂
I never knew about this but it’s so cool! I feel I missed so much of beautiful Geneva by going during the winter – it looks gorgeous in the summertime with all the green trees! 🙂
The gorgeous blue sky was definitely a great backdrop!
Looks nice. I was in Geneva about 10 years ago and remember the harbor but not the jet. Not sure if it was there or not.
It’s been there since 1951 (I just read that 😉 ) so that’s a shame you missed it!

Beautiful photographs – you had an awesome day! I liked the jet too – it’s so pretty around the lake.
Yes, it’s stunning, isn’t it?!
What gorgeous views with sailboats on the water! Also, that water fountain looks like a water spout! It’s huge! I can’t believe how high it shoots the water!
I know!! Plus it very slowly turns, it’s just beautiful.
Such pretty blues and greens in your photos. Wonder how high that jetstream gets?
Thank you! 140 meters!! 🙂
I think they have something like this is in Zurich, too! Those Swiss know how to make a pretty jet stream 😉
Ooh, nice! What is Zurich like?
