I’m on a trip down memory lane at the moment; revisiting Chilean destinations before I head there in just over two weeks time. Last week I featured Vilches on the blog and today I’ll be carrying on with the same camping trip and the next place we stopped of at.
Before writing this post I went on Google maps to attempt to find the name of the place but, turns out there isn’t a name for it… I mean, it has a name but it’s probably only known by the people who live there. So all I can really say is that It’s close to Laguna del Maule.
So, after Vilches we headed to this unnamed place…This definitely isn’t a ‘destination’ in the classical sense; we decided to go there because we saw it was relatively close on the map and was close to a lake. We camped in a very very small camping site just on the edge of a river. The views were beautiful; the combination of water and mountains is such a winner. The mountains were the dusty, crumbly, sand coloured type with parts of greenery and they were beautiful! We spent time by the river and had the place to ourselves; there were only two or three other groups in the campsite.
On the ride back we wondered why there was so many vehicles with Chilean flags proudly flying, we the learnt that there had been some kind of rally and so we were stuck in traffic for quite some time…
I’m looking for three guest blog posts for the next few weeks. If you are interested in writing a travel/ photography post for my blog while I am away i’d love to hear from you; email@example.com
