Bicultural Wedding Invitations

I’m so excited to be sharing our wedding invites on the blog today.  YAY!

When Carlos and I first started thinking about our wedding invites, we decided we wanted something personalised and something that reflected our bicultural relationship.  We are getting married in Chile but also wanted some of London to be featured in the invite. So we starting sketching down a few ideas.  We wanted some iconic images of both England and Chile, but in a cartoon format.  Finally deciding on a London bus, Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament to represent London.  For Chile, we went for a Santiago bus, Torre Entel (the TV tower in Santiago) and La Moneda (Governmental building in Santiago).

Once we’d got our idea down on paper, we then contacted Kara-Jessica, a graphic designer, who got to work on making our perfect invites.  We are so pleased with how they came out and it was amazing to see them printed for the first time.  Kara-Jessica checked the design with us, every step of the way and sent us a few versions at each stage.  We couldn’t be happier with the final version!  Thank you, Kara-Jessica 😀IMG_4564-1_1000

Once our printed versions arrived, we sealed them with a personalised wax stamp, which was so much fun.  Have you ever used one?DSC03076

Which iconic images would you choose to represent your city?

This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to show you our amazing invites!

    • Thank so much, Christine! I really loved the wax stamp experience and it was easier than I thought it’d be! I just googled ‘heat embossing’ asI didn’t know that was what it was called and the final results are amazing, wow!

  1. This is the cutest thing!!! Bicultural wedding must be quite a handful – but you have quite a success with these cards, love them! and that personalised wax stamp is really cool — off to the internet to spend my money now…

  2. Thank you! 😀 I guess it depends if you buy standard invites from a shop, as they would be cheaper as they aren’t personalised. But we did want personalised ones. What kind are you looking for?
