Brockley Street Art Festival

A Bob Marley Mural was created in Brockley, South London 40 years ago but was demolished in 2014.  So, this year a Crowdfunding campaign was set up to create a new mural.  It was painted this week as part of The Brockley Street Art Festival and I went to see it on Saturday.  I was blown away by how amazing the piece of art was, which looked even better in the beautiful summer sun.  The detail is incredible, especially in the eyes and I love how the bricks add to the texture of the mural.DSC03573DSC03577DSC03576

The aim of the festival was to showcase murals in the area, and here were some of them that I managed to spot.  Including this vibrant one on the front of a house.DSC03578 DSC03575DSC03583DSC03587DSC03589DSC03590DSC03591DSC03592DSC03594DSC03595DSC03596

And some lovely cherry blossom mosaics outside of the station, which looked perfect against the backdrop of blue sky.

  1. Love love love street art! and all of these are amazing!!! So colorful and unique! I love the ‘the end is only the beginning’ quote! I’d have to say right now my favorite mural is one on a Madrid market that reads- Llena la vida de color or fill life with color! Obsessed with the quote!

  2. How cool, a street art festival?! I love the street art in London! When I was visiting in April, I went on an Alternative London street art tour, which I would recommend if you are into it. It was so interesting! And I just love that cherry blossom mosaic – gorgeous!
