Last weekend, as part of my birthday celebrations, Carlos and I headed to Kew Gardens with a picnic packed, two cameras and excitement. I had been to Kew Gardens as a child but had been wanting to go again for ages, so my birthday was the perfect excuse! The gardens are located in South West London but they are so much more than the name suggests, the area is hugggge (as in the size of a big park) and has areas to just walk around plus huge conservatories too as well as allotments. We spent four hours there, but could have stayed for longer had we not had plans for later on. Wikipedia tells me that Kew is home to to the world’s largest collection of living plants, wow! It is also of course, a photography lover’s dream! 🙂 So, here are some of my favourites from the 120 I took!
Such a beautiful way to spend a day! The only clue that you are still in London is the plans flying over from Heathrow!
Do you like visiting gardens?

Kew Gardens is one of my favorite sights in London! I’ve visited 3 times, but only one of these times it was actually sunny and I could explore (and take pictures) the gardens properly! I also like the greenhouses a lot!!
I loved it so much! Our day was on and off sunny which worked well as it didn’t get too hot for walking around but of course, we all love a sunny day!
Kew Gardens was the tube stop before my parents when they lived in London. I always wanted to go and never got around to it! Now I really wish I had!
Aw, how lovely; the area around is really nice! Hopefully you’ll get to visit one day.
Looks beautiful! Definitely a great way to spend the day. I love that shot of the foot bridge from below.
Thanks Sara, the bridge was fun but a bit creaky, eek!/
1. Happy Belated Birthday! 2. What a great way to spend your birthday. Look at all those pretty flowers! I love visiting parks and gardens!
Thanks Christine, it was perfect 🙂
Belated Happy Birthday. Wow, Kew Gardens is a nature lover and photographer’s dreamland…So, much amazing life forms. A perfect to just relax, remember fun childhood memories and create new exciting ones. Each picture, a vivid reflection of the many beauty and blessings around us. Have a wonderful Summer!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! It really is a wonderful place, full of colour and surprises around every corner 🙂 An oasis in London!
Oh wow, I am completely in awe of these photos! That peacock, what a magnificent beast of a bird! Places like this are my favourite place to take photos and where I think most of my photo skills lie, so I love seeing photos from other people and getting inspiration! This post was definitely inspiring to me 🙂
I’ve never had the chance to visit Kew Gardens myself, but I’ve heard many a nice thing about it.
