Eighteen Days in London

Happy Wanderful Wednesday!  I’m so excited to get back to reading your posts after our festive break.

I’m currently on my nine week summer holidays (teacher perks), and have just got back from two-and-a-half weeks in London.  So to mark my time in London, I thought I would write my first ever ‘by the numbers‘ blog post, as I love reading these recap posts and I can’t believe after three years of blogging, I haven’t written one yet.  So…

18 days in London

5 months since my last visitdsc07689

4 flights taken

17106 miles flown (Santiago – Rome – London, and back again)

33 hours in the air

Too many photos taken of The Andes from the plane windowIMG_5208.JPG

6 hour delay at Rome airport…

5 hours sat on the runway waiting for our flight to leave due to fog in London

26 degrees of difference in temperature from leaving Santiago and arriving in London

2 days with snow (a very light shower that didn’t stick in South East London, but still counts!)

5 art and photography exhibitions visited

Many delicious meals shared with friends and familydsc07699

1 new year celebration

2 particularly beautiful sunsetsdsc07693IMG_5256.JPG

5 books purchased – I love getting the chance to buy books in English!

1 day of street art spotting in East London

3 years of blogging marked

1 trip idea planned with my parents for when they come to Chile in July

2 blogger dates – It was so nice to meet Rachel and Jessi

1 theatre trip.  Matilda was amazing, and I would highly recommend it

Lots of wonderful memories.

How was your festive period?

  1. Congrats on your blogiversary! I started my blog three years ago too 🙂 Looks like you had a fab time in London as well. Can’t wait to hear what the rest of your vacation will be like!

  2. I can’t believe that you sat on the runway for 5 hours and that you had a plane delay too! Overall it sounds like even though some of the traveling was no fun, you still had a great time in London! Hooray for getting a trip to Chile planned with your parents and for some blogger meet ups as well! That’s seriously one of my favorite parts about blogging!

  3. Love the style of this post, Marcella! Short and sweet 🙂 Congrats on your blogging anniversary. And I also saw Matilda (four years ago but it was in the same theater even back then!) and it’s sooooo good isn’t it?!

  4. Like the style of this post! Looks like you were destined to be delayed one way or another! Can’t wait to read more about your trip. Looks like you were able to stop by tons of interesting places. Congratulations on your blogging milestone.#WanderfulWednesday

  5. I love this post idea!! Those delays are brutal though!! Did you stop over in Rome or was that just where the natural connection was from Santiago?? That’s a lot of miles, girlie!! Which books did you pick up??

  6. Yay it was so lovely to meet you! Isn’t Matilda fantastic? I’m not really a musicals type of person normally but I thought it was brilliant. Very well done. Glad you had such a good time back with your family and friends, you certainly maximised your time!!

  7. Congrats on 3 years of blogging! I just hit that same milestone a couple of months ago :). And I love this style of posts! I don’t know why I never do it either, probably because i don’t ever keep track of anything haha. And I love that you met Rachel and Jessi… it’s always nice to finally meet blogging friends in person!
