I hope you are having a lovely weekend! 🙂
Recently, I’ve been blogging my way through our trip to Patagonia and you’ve seen a lot of mountains and beautiful landscapes (that will continue on Wednesday). But, life isn’t all about huge mountains and I found myself craving some more ‘real time’ writing. Plus, I love reading life update/ little detail posts.
So, here is what has been happening. Life After Summer:
Re-adjusting ~ to life back at work. A nine week holiday was a crazy long time to not have a routine and to rarely have to set an alarm. Meaning, my 6.15am alarm hasn’t been easy to adjust back to! Slowly, but surely, we’ll get there.
Watching ~ as many Oscar films as I can! Cheap cinema deals here in Santiago means that so far I’ve got through La La Land, Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight, and my most favourite; Lion. I loved it so much! It really was the best film I have seen in a very, very long time! Next up: Fences. Which one did you like best?
Sleeping ~ without the fan on! The temperatures here in Chile have finally started to cool down, which I love as the 36 degree heat was too much for this London girl! Having said that. it’s definitely still hot, and will be for a while longer but it’s a nice kind of hot now.
Starting ~ to think about travel plans for when my parents come to visit in July; desert or mountains, or both?!
Yogaing ~ always and forever!
Celebrating ~ International Women’s Day. My yoga teacher hosted a two hour sisterhood meditation circle where we meditated, set intentions and discuss women’s issues. It was a really special evening and left us all feeling so happy! Did you celebrate?
Anticipating ~ our next trip. A good few months ago we booked flights away for the long weekend over Easter. We are flying to Temuco (1hr 2o min south of Santiago) and then heading to Conguillo National Park for a weekend of nature, hiking and camping. It’s about five-and-a-half weeks away and it’s somewhere we have wanted to go for a while.
Feeling ~ proud that my brother is running his third marathon tomorrow. This time, In Barcelona. But also feeling sad that I can’t be there.
Food Safari-ing ~ What is that?! Well, a good few months ago, my friend told me about a thing that she used to do with her friends in Australia. Every month they would pick a cuisine and all make a dish based around it. Then come together, and share. Today we finally start, and we will all be making Indian dishes. I’m so excited, especially as we get to begin with my favourite cuisine!
Spotting ~ the very first signs of Autumn leaves.
Loving ~ all of your sweet comments on my previous blog post. I’m really proud of doing the trek!
Wishing ~ you a happy weekend!! 🙂
What have you been up to?

Oscar movies: I liked La La Land but really enjoyed Hidden Figures. Fascinating story that I’m ashamed to say I knew nothing about.
Ohhh, I forgot to include that one, as I watched that too! I’ll edit my post 🙂
And I totally agree, I knew nothing about the story!
I love the food safari idea!! I am going to need it to start cooling down in Brisbane but I think we still have a few months.
I’m going to blog about food Safari soon! And, right after I wrote that post it was 34 yesterday…!!
That food sarfari-ing sounds like so much fun, and a great way to try out all sorts of different foods! I might have to steal that idea to do with some of my friends. And a bummer that it’s taking a while to adjust back to life at work, but at least you have a trip to look forward to soon!
Definitely do! I’m thinking of writing a post about food Safari soon 🙂 The first one was just delicious 🙂
My parents loved Lion! I have to watch it!
You should! It’s such an incredible story 🙂
