Last night, I arrived back into Santiago from Torres del Paine, Patagonia. It was without a doubt one of the most peaceful places I have been; the scenery, the sounds and the quietness created a sense of calm (I can’t wait to tell you about it next week!)
But, we can’t always fly away to find peace and calm, you can find it just where you are. However, this isn’t a blog post to tell you about mindfulness, yoga, meditation and mandala colouring (which are great ways to find peace!) It’s a post to tell you about a beautiful place of calm in Santiago: The Bahá’í Temple.
The Bahá’í temple in the Peñalolen area of Santiago, was completed at the end of last year. It’s the only temple of it’s kind in South America so we are very lucky to have it close to us! The architecture is just stunning and so unique. It looks like large leaf shapes all coming together to form the shape of a bud.
We couldn’t take photos inside as it’s an area of quiet and meditation but as you gaze up to the ceiling, you see all of the leaf like parts of the temple join together.
Whats more, the temple is surrounded by mountains and looks down on the city so the surroundings just add to the magic.
It was great to see so many people visiting the temple to take in the view, see the architecture and have a moment of calm. I think it would be a beautiful place to see the sunset!
Where do you find calm in the city?
